twotwo Looking for sledder friendly accommodations? We’ve done our research and here are practical tips for choosing the best lodgings and amenities your trip. Start planning your dream snow getaway today!
Budget
Begin your search by defining your budget and the kind of accommodation. Do you want a full service resort, chain hotel, , outfitter cabin or bed and breakfast? How many will be in your group and how many beds do you need?
Some accommodations may be more suited for families and couples. With a larger group snowmobile tour, it’s fun to stay in a chalet with multiple bedrooms and have a central living space where you can get some social time! Our suite is perfect for smaller groups and families, with two queen beds and room for two couples (or close friends haha). The lodge (the entire home) will be available in December 2024 and is an amazing place to stay over the holiday season.
Trail Access
Being close to trails is a huge plus! This cuts down on your travel time. If you’re going to bring a trailer and expect to leave your rig for a period of time, check that adequate parking is available, secure and free. Our accommodations are right at the base of Griffin Mountain, meaning you can sled right from your door up to the alpine. Access to other trails varies from just a couple minutes to 40minutes of travel, bringing you to Owls Head, Blue Lake, Wap, Joss, Boulder, Frisby and so much more!
Road Access
You will want accommodation that is close to a main highway, as it will be paved, well-travelled and frequently ploughed and sanded. The accommodations should also be easy to access with a truck or truck and trailer. Free parking is great too. Luckily, we check all these boxes! We are minutes from the Trans Canada Highway and our driveway is always cleared. It’s super easy to find, even in the dark.
Service Access
Having a gas station and convenience store nearby is key! We have both, with the Malakwa Supermarket located at the bottom of our road. You’ll also find snowmobile rentals, parts and repairs in nearby Revelstoke.
Perks for Sledders
Some places really cater to sledders. They offer dry rooms for your gear and a covered or heated shop to work on your sled in the evening. Guess what? We’ve got that! Ask us about availability on the shop prior to booking.
